Borders Group will cut another 100 workers in its distribution facility located in La Vergne, Tennessee.
In a The Nashville Business Journal article, Borders spokesperson Mary Davis offered this statement: “We are in the process of reorganizing core areas of our business around key strategic objectives to transform the Borders brand. As part of this effort, we are making changes to our staffing levels to make sure the right people are in the right spots and positions and resources are aligned with our strategic objectives.”
In March, the same distribution center saw 120 jobs eliminated. In June, the company announced that Bennett LeBow would be the new CEO of Borders Group. In July, the company sold Paperchase for $31 million to ease the bookseller’s debt.
