news is that Barnes & Noble has placed in on their "Happy Halloween" endcap (see

The Surrey International Writers' Conference is a three-day event, running from
Oct. 22-24, 2010. Friday and Saturday are full days, and Sunday events wrap-up in
the early afternoon.
The conference and all of its events are held at: The Sheraton Guildford Hotel (map),

Joseph Beth Booksellers in Cincinnati.
First, at 5:30, I'm having an open event to celebrate the release of my book, How
to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack. The event is open and will have some free
snacks (score!). I believe I will be talking about the book

I will be speaking at a regional meeting of the Northern Ohio Society of Children's
Book Writers & Illustrators. Very cool stuff.

Bombeck Writers Workshop in Dayton, Ohio. The conference really is one of
a kind. It's an event for humor writers of all kinds and only happens every two years.
The conference draws big names, such as Dave Barry in the past, and this year one
